Vice-President, Creative

Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced VP of Creative to guide the creative vision for Floor & Decor. You will lead and inspire a team of talented creatives and agency partners to translate marketing objectives into creative campaigns that span all consumer touchpoints - from brand and performance campaigns to store and digital experiences. You’ll be empowered (and challenged) to build our brand and break-through across all channels – advertising, social, digital, video, photography, store signage, packaging and more. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders across the organization in marketing, visual merch, merchandising, ecommerce and store operations to drive creative execution, inspiration, brand standards and consistency across all our initiatives to create meaningful engagement and business impact for Floor & Decor.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • A proven track record of success leading teams, developing brands, and delivering campaigns that grow brands.
  • 15+ years of experience, 5+ years as a Creative Director managing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of creative development that engages audiences for both B2C and B2B.
  • A portfolio featuring a wide range of creative campaigns, a diversity of ideas, and approaches to solving problems across all forms of media with proven results.
  • An action-oriented leader who can think and act both strategically and tactically to execute projects and make informed decisions.
  • An exceptional presenter who inspires executives, teams and stakeholders.
  • A transparent leader who brings clarity and consistency in communications.
  • A solid understanding of how creativity can achieve business objectives while still meeting and encouraging brand standards for aesthetic and communication quality.
  • An expert in creating marketing/advertising campaigns – from developing a vision to creating assets to overseeing production on time and budget.
  • Hands-on experience in retail or other fast-paced customer-driven experience is certainly preferable.
  • A track record of taking a highly collaborative approach, able to lead and influence cross-functionally at all levels in the organization.
  • Highly skilled with recruiting and leading a team of creative talent.
  • Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Own and continuously elevate the overall creative execution and identity for the Floor & Decor brand across all consumer touch points.
  • Lead a high-performing group by providing vision clarity, strategic thought leadership and setting high expectations for results.
  • Guide and develop creative concepts and integrated campaigns with brand alignment across a broad range of channels and media including advertising, video, broadcast, interactive, online, social media, and in-store point-of-sale.
  • Build a strong creative bench by elevating our current standards, hiring top creative talent, managing and growing a strong team, and curating a go-to bench of freelance creative/production talent.
  • Spread enthusiasm about design, inspire creativity in the team and throughout the company.
  • Take a hands-on role in translating business strategies and KPIs into break-through, differentiated creative concepts.
  • Drive innovation, processes and workflows that enable creatives to operate at speed and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with other department leaders and build relationships that aid in problem solving and support initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):

  • Some travel required including air and car
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY    REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
