Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (relevant work experience can be substituted)
  • Minimum three years database administration experience
  • SQL Server experience required (2014+)
  • Oracle experience required (18+)
  • PostgreSQL experience required (10+)
  • Network experience required
  • Proficient in Windows Server
  • Linux experience required
  • Proven problem-solving and follow-up skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be highly organized and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with system automation tools (SQL Server Agent, cron, Windows Task Scheduler, Oracle DBMS_Scheduler, etc) enhances consideration
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership acumen and confidence to influence others without authority
  • Must pass pre-employment background check
  • High speed internet access required

Essential Functions

  • Independently able to support and/or lead design, development, installation, configuration, and upgrade of database software across enterprise environment
  • Able to provide 2nd and 3rd tier 24/7/365 database support
  • Support database environment consisting of on-prem and cloud hosted database servers, as well as Database-As-A-Service
  • Work in sprint oriented project development/deployment cycle in addition to production support
  • Support deployment and maintenance of Point of Sale database environment across new/existing stores as well as related corporate servers
  • Support SOX audit related evidence gathering and resolution
  • Build, document, and execute test plans to verify proper functioning of database systems or changes to existing systems
  • Participate in configuration management process for system/database/application changes and coordinate maintenance windows for changes with appropriate personnel
  • Document processes as needed to enable tasks to be performed by other personnel
  • Hybrid work schedule with some days in office and some days at home

Preferred additional experience:

  • Oracle: GoldenGate, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Data Pump import/export
  • SQL Server: AlwaysOn, Failover Cluster Instances, replication
  • PostgreSQL: Cluster databases
  • Cohesity database backups
  • Windows PowerShell and batch scripts
  • Linux shell scripts
  • Ansible or other rapid provisioning tools
  • Experience with mass deployment of SQL Server cumulative updates and scripts to database environments
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • SolarWinds
  • MySQL
  • Tanium


  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
