Purpose

Floor & Decor is actively looking for a Senior Director of Ecomm Development, UX & Project Management to lead the design, development and support for flooranddecor.com. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Ecommerce and collaborates across multiple internal teams including IT, Merchandising, Marketing, Customer Service and Store Operations. In addition, this leader will manage the relationship with multiple third-party development and service providers.

This person must be an entrepreneurial leader with vast experience in “unified commerce” capabilities and delivering a consistent branded experience. This person plays a key role in driving the growth of our online channel and delivering against our financial targets as well as core web targets. This person must inspire the team to create, innovative, test and learn digital strategies that deliver incremental sales growth in the short term and establish forward-looking digital methodologies. 

This leader’s team drives compelling and impactful customer experiences across digital channels and is responsible for defining requirements, establishing priorities, executing releases and measuring success.

This is a unique opportunity for an Ecommerce focused leader to lead a team amid exciting growth and change. The ideal candidate brings experience with digital products and a record of working cross-functionally to achieve goals. They are a patient and empathetic project manager who understands the process of building and supporting Ecommerce platforms to meet the needs of rapidly growing customer expectations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be passionate about influencing the Floor & Decor customer experience!
  • 8 years or more experience leading a successful online development strategy and team.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team and setting business direction.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
  • Be nimble and able to adjust to an online environment that is constantly changing.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership, collaboration, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep working knowledge of the digital environment and tools and platforms used to deliver an exceptional online experience. CMS, analytics tools, CRM, SEO, digital marketing tools, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing teams (internal and external partners and vendors)3+ years experience partnering with or contributing as an user experience team member.  Understanding user research methods, UX design deliverables, and visual identity systems such as style guides
  • 3+ years experience in managing large and complex budgets including operating expense and capital expense

Ability to define a vision, operationalize the delivery, and monitor and pivot as you learn.

  • Ability to interpret and draw conclusions from data, turning analytic insights into business actions.
  • Superb communication and influencing skills as well as the ability to achieve internal & external buy-in.
  • Familiarity with SEO (Search Engine Optimization ) fundamentals and the impact on content and product development approaches
  • 3+ years experience presenting to senior executives (VP and above)

Essential Job Functions

  • Create, define and drive Floor & Decor’s online user experience and development strategy. Combine trends with data to create an exceptional customer experience.
  • Design and execute strategic Ecommerce initiatives that align with company mission and goals.
  • Bridge technical development with purpose driven user experiences.
  • Manage and coach teams that include user experience, project managers, software developers, quality assurance engineers, SEO specialists and more.
  • Work with researchers/analysts to understand user needs and feedback to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead the product development process, from ideation to launch, including product design, development and testing, for new and existing products.
  • Create product and feature concepts, road maps and functional specifications documentation.
  • Create and drive processes that increase productivity related to online development, testing and release management.  
  • Partner with the In-Store Design and PRO teams to establish their digital strategy.
  • Drive company performance while providing a best-in-class consumer experience
  • Use data and analytics to measure product performance and identify opportunities for future product actions.
  • Connect the company strategies while maximizing return through new feature development, testing, site optimization and improving the overall online consumer experience.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to guide creation of forward-thinking, Ecommerce-ready digital assets.
  • Maintain consistent awareness of key competitors, as well as trends inside and outside of the market, to identify opportunities within the business.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure products are developed, delivered and maintained promptly and cost-effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices, and use this knowledge to inform product development and management decisions.

Working Conditions (travel,   environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
