Senior Store Planner

Purpose

  • This position is responsible for reviewing and red-lining the Store Planners projects, maintaining project trackers and developing store fixture and merchandising floor plans by collaborating with the Operations, Merchandising, Construction, Logistics, IT and MIS departments. This role will continuously act as a liaison between the Operations and Merchandising teams along with field associates to strategically help assort, develop and design new and existing stores as part of the company’s growth initiative.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Seven years of relevant experience in retail design required
  • Expert CAD skills (AutoCAD 2015 or higher)
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Analytical skills
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent Project Management skills; ability to lead cross-functional projects
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

Essential Job Functions

  • Review and red-line drawings created by Store Planners to ensure safety and brand standards are maintained.
  • Manage Project Tracker to ensure Store Planner’s project deadlines are maintained.
  • Assist Director with managing the team of Store Planners including, hiring, training and development, day to day workflow and performance management.
  • Assist Director with maintaining product matrix by partnering with merchants and analysts to ensure proper space is allocated to each department.
  • Develop preliminary and final store layouts based on direction from Store Planning Director and brand standards for both new and remodel stores utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Ensure plans are updated as needed for prototypical changes throughout the project.
  • Collaborate with Construction on layout of the shell drawing to ensure key components are positioned to maximize retail and warehouse space; evaluate existing conditions from as-built drawings and identify constraints and opportunities to develop a store layout aligning with company standards.
  • Utilize the Store Planning database to input site specific store data; Director may run reports from database for both use of the Store Planning team and other departments.
  • Ensure all building regulations/standards set by local, state and federal jurisdictions are being maintained and communicated.
  • Collaborate with Construction, IT, Operations, and other divisional and field associates to ensure stores are being built per plan and to brand standards.

Working Conditions (travel, environment)

  • Occasional travel required including air and car travel.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
