Senior Data Architect

Purpose:

This position will be responsible for developing and governing data, analytics, and digital information strategy in order to drive the Enterprise using advanced analytics capabilities and data-driven decisions. This role will develop data/analytics products, procedures, controls and policies, and will work closely with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, analyze and protect data assets while ensuring that the company meets industry best practices.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field of study (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • 7+ years of development experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • 3+ years of experience on Big Data platforms (e.g. Spark, Data Bricks, Azure SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Experience with Azure Synapse or Azure Data Factory strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of advanced experience with at least one ETL platform (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, DBT)
  • 3+ years of experience using cloud computing to build analytics applications in Azure, Snowflake or BigQuery
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g. UNIX shell scripting, Python)
  • 3+ years of experience with at least one DB platform (e.g., SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or AS400/IBM iSeries) and hands-on experience writing complex SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Previous leadership role in at least one enterprise-level on-premise to cloud data transformation initiative.
  • Understanding of CI/CD-based application development methodology
  • Experience in building and maintaining an enterprise data warehouse
  • Experience in data modeling concepts (e.g. Star Schema and Data Vault)
  • Leadership skills to execute projects through all phases of the standard software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and data analysis skills

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leading, teaching, motivating and managing a technical Data Ops team.
  • Understanding the enterprise and data/analytics strategy, and clearly communicating the strategy to a range of individuals spanning from business users to senior management.
  • Leading the formulation of strategy and design of a new cloud data warehouse – oversee the building and support of ETL/ELT processes, and optimize and curate data modeling to support business reporting
  • Coordinating closely with DevOps team
  • Mentoring other associates responsible for ETL/ELT processes and cross-system data reconciliation/balancing.
  • Leading in advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design/implementation and the use of statistical methods
  • Guiding ETL process owners to understand, design and implement data movements and integrations across a complex landscape of systems.
  • Designing, developing, and owning a highly effective, automated system monitoring infrastructure with respect to ETL/ELT processes.
  • Designing, developing, and executing an automated security model based on role, location and/or department to limit access to sensitive data.
  • Designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines and processes.
  • Designing and implementing automated testing processes.
  • Implementing and enforcing development standards and data retention policies.
  • Organizing and leading governance processes relative to cataloguing of common metrics, user access and driving a single source of truth.
  • Delivering secure, user-ready datasets and end user training to drive adoption.
  • Oversight of enterprise-wide collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data
  • Strong awareness of current and emerging applications, big data solutions, and tools
  • Evaluation, design and implementation of tools and products to provide rapid automation and access to data
  • Ownership of relevant standard operating procedures and technical documentation
  • Effective communication of the status, value, and importance of data collection and analytics insights to business partners, IT partners and senior management.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholder teams to gather requirements for new datasets
  • Prioritization of multiple projects and tasks across different business units

Working Conditions (travel & environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
 

Store Support Center Associates


Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, ensuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.


Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
