Job Description:

Purpose

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the Distribution Center in a Safety Environment. To enforce the regulations and Safety Expectations of Floor & Décor Supply Chain. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  •  Three years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; Excel
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry tools, objects or equipment above shoulder level without assistance.
  • Write documents, reports, etc. using a writing instrument (e.g., pencil, pen) or computer.

Essential Job Functions

  • Comply to OSHA regulations throughout the Distribution
    • Educate and train the Employees on the Safety needs
    • Audit and comply to the needs of the Distribution functions for a safe work environment
  • Observe behavior of others (i.e., associates, customers, suppliers).
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Operate motor vehicle or other large power equipment.
  • Walk within work area for extended periods of time.
  • Differentiate sounds in order to inspect and maintain equipment, identify potential hazards, or recognize safety alarms.
  • Safety - Follows appropriate legal, safety, and security requirements when identifying, handling, and documenting theft, and other suspicious, criminal, or unwanted behavior.
  •  Follows general safety procedures and policies (e.g., wearing personal protective equipment, powered equipment procedures) while performing daily tasks.
  • Planning and Improvement: Plan for and Improve Work - Accepts responsibility and meets expectations for own work. Identifies steps needed in order

to carry out work as required.

  • Influence and Communicate: Share Information - Listens to others and asks questions to learn about what is needed. Communicates the right information to associates and leaders when they need it. Communicates in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Execution and Results: Get Results - Makes sure work is done correctly. Works on top priorities first. Makes a consistent effort to get results. Meets deadlines.
  • Takes action in order to solve problems so work can be completed in a timely manner.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Perform to Ethical Standards - Follows company policies and procedures (for example, the Ten Foot Rule). Shows integrity and ethical behavior in all work situations. Reports ethical and compliance issues promptly.
  • Adaptability: Adapt - Adapts to changing work demands. Stays focused on own work when faced with change or difficulties. Stays open to and learns from assignments and feedback.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, which could include, but not be limited to fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, chemical protection and electrical protection such as protective footwear.

Working Conditions (travel,   environment)

  •  May work with substances that require special handling
  • Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
  • Moves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Works at heights.
  • Work indoors for extended periods of time.
  • Move through narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • Work in areas with high noise levels that may require hearing protection. Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
  • Travels to and from multiple facilities or work sites conducting tours and inspections
  • Physical Work – Ability exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects. Enters and locates information on computer. Walk the Distribution Floor to preform audits on a regular routine 1.4 Million Square foot facility; Visually verifies information, often in small print; Reads information, often in small print; Visually locates merchandise and other objects; Visually inspects equipment

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
