PURPOSE:

We are seeking to hire a Manager, Retail Staffing to support our store operations sourcing, recruiting and staffing efforts.  The Manager, Retail Staffing will report to the Director, Talent Management with a dotted line report to a Divisional HR Director.  The Manager, Retail Staffing is responsible for managing the hourly talent acquisition process for a specific division of the business and sometimes across multiple divisions as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Manager, Retail Staffing must be an effective and results driven leader with excellent interpersonal, team building and communication skills along with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.  This is an individual contributor role that supports store leaders with building talent pools to ensure bench strength for future growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Partner with the store managers, store operations manager, divisional HR Team, Talent Management Team and Workforce Management Team to ensure diverse and high-quality talent is sourced, recruited and hired for hourly roles and store department manager roles. 
  • Ensure consistent and expertly executed sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, selection and hiring best practices are delivered across the divisions to ensure proper store staffing.
  • Facilitate regular staffing intake meetings and conversations with store leaders to determine hiring needs for each store. Partner with the store leadership teams to create and execute tailored staffing plans to meet the hiring needs for each store.  Oversee the hiring efforts of 3,500 associates per year.
  • Partner with divisional HR Team and Talent Management Team to ensure staffing plans are in place and ready to support new store openings.
  • Partner with the Talent Management Team to ensure the most appropriate sourcing efforts, drive strong applicant flow and coordinate store hiring events and careers fairs. Ensure job postings are accurate and reflect the positions needed for each location. Ensure all jobs are promptly posted, updated and removed, as necessary. Plan all efforts to ensure successful store hiring events and career fairs for the various stores.
  • Review candidate applications and screen or decline on behalf of the store to assist filtering through candidates. Ensure candidates promptly move through the background screening to hire process. Troubleshoot and problem solve issues that might cause bottlenecks in the hiring process.
  • Track staffing progress for divisional and regional leadership teams by establishing actionable, relevant and detailed metrics that encourage behavior focused on candidate quality, decreased turnover and stronger overall store associate performance.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred or equivalent.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a manager level recruiting role strongly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of high-volume recruiting experience filling roles in multi-locations required. Retail industry a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, within a diverse team and across all levels of associates in store operations.
  • Excellent sourcing, recruiting, screening, selection skills along with strong knowledge of best practices in conducting successful interviews.
  • Must possess outstanding relationship building, coaching influencing and advising skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to build outstanding partnerships and deliver excellent customer service to store operations teams and outstanding experiences to candidates.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management, prioritization, delegation, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of ATS (Workday a plus).  Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):

  • Extensive auto and air travel with overnight stays.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time."
