PRO Customer Education Strategy Manager

This position reports to the Vice President of PRO and Commercial Sales with a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Installation Materials Training and supports Floor and Decor's PRO business. Floor & Decor intends to be the destination for PRO training and education in the flooring contractor space. This position would own building, executing, and overseeing strategies to provide training and education programs to our PRO customers. Primary responsibilities include understanding trends in Pro Market verticals, collaborate with industry experts and Trade Associations to design programs tied to training and customer-centric solutions, while strengthening the broader sales organization’s ability to serve our PRO customers. Provide vision and direction for the PRO education strategy across the organization. This includes developing and maintaining partnerships with various trade organizations, suppliers, and internal merchant teams to enrich and expand education and certification opportunities for PRO customers.


  • High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years in Education Strategy, Technical Training Strategy, or Business Management
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as various online video meeting and collaboration applications
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop recommendations and solutions
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong ability to manage projects across different business units (internally and externally)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in negotiations and strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective executive level presentations
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and be results oriented
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus


Build, execute and oversee strategies to provide training and education programs to our PRO customers. Must have a passion for Sales & Education, be a strong communicator/collaborator, be passionate about building a world class Education Strategy for the Commercial Business and PRO Customer. This person will possess a high level of professionalism, as well as  excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, PRO Strategy Leaders, Industry Experts and PRO Customers to identify trends for Educational opportunities
  • Maintain extensive knowledge about Floor & Decor products
  • Coordinate, Plan and Execute strategy to host Industry Certification Events across multiple markets at Store locations, including working with the Marketing Team to develop a marketing strategy, collaborating with Trade Associations and vendors to align curricula with Floor and Decor’s business, and ensuring events meet Floor and Decor standards.
  • Develop SOP for certification, training, and education events and train store leaders on processes and procedures and formally and informally mentor store leaders
  • Determine education strategy development with input from PRO Services, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, and other cross functional departments
  • Work with cross-function departments, including internal Merchandising, Operations and Marketing, to make strategic decisions regarding new or different pro customer education needs that align with new Floor and Decor product launches
  • Liaison and build partnerships with Trade Association leaders and negotiate terms to bring certification programs to Floor and Decor.
  • Participate in trade associations and trade shows and assist in promoting Floor and Decor as an education provider
  • Plan visits with store locations, vendors and Trade Association professionals
  • Design training for and support the Regional Pro Directors on how to market and expand participation of training programs available to PRO customers
  • Manage marketing efforts in conjunction with the Marketing Team to get necessary materials to execute industry trade certification events
  • Research and coordinate any offsite social activities after Trade Events with PRO Customers
  • Identify, vet, recommend, and onboard new education partners/vendors that are important to the education vision/ecosystem
  • Take an active role in inter and intra departmental collaboration and communication initiatives
  • Represents Floor & Decor’s thought leadership in local, regional, and national events, including at Trade Association committee and board meetings.
  • Travel to customer and partner sites to present F&D’s capabilities and education and training events
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives.


  • This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.
  • 75% travel required including air and car travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
