Job Description:

Purpose

The Merchandising Product Manager serves as a subject matter expert for multiple merchandising systems, including the Product & Quality Management, Procure to Pay, Product Line Review and Store Signage system applications, as well as other internal systems. The position regularly interacts with the Merchandising, Information Technology, Global Sourcing & Compliance, Supply Chain and eCommerce teams to drive understanding, adoption and overall governance of Floor & Decor’s merchandising systems and processes. The Merchandising Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of system controls and data, analyzing system issues, identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement, sharing knowledge, and training stakeholders across the broader Merchandising organization and external business partners.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related      

    field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Five plus years of relevant experience in business retail or technical leadership roles
  • Experience with Stibo STEP or other master data management software is desired
  • Full life cycle experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software is desired
  • Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) & relational databases are required

Essential Job Functions

  • Define/application roadmap and manage expectations with relevant stakeholders, including cross-functional and senior leadership teams
  •   Use exceptional critical and manage the product thinking and analytical skills to make informed decisions related to product features, design and direction
  • Serve as subject matter expert and leader in supporting Floor & Decor’s Product & Quality Management System (PQMS), including design, development and configuration of workflow and business rules
  • Define and govern PQMS operational processes related to taxonomy setup and attribute validations
  • Plan and execute data collection/quality initiatives, including scheduled audits of existing data
  •   Lead and influence internal teams to identify and create high quality use cases and functional requirements for key system features and enhancements
  • Establish risk management approach and model to mitigate both operational and system issues as they occur
  •  Develop high quality specifications including functional requirements and detailed use cases for new product features
  • Lead product workshops, product boot camps and other ad-hoc sessions as needed to gather input and promote system awareness and adoption
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to other team members
  • Develop, monitor and manage relevant and actionable scorecards to measure stakeholder responsiveness and to detect emerging issues and trends

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
