Job Description:

Purpose

The Merchandise Supervisor is responsible for leading the Merchandising Team and assisting with strategic merchandising.  The Merchandise Supervisor will handle and understand inventory maintenance and utilize company guidelines to outline merchandising best practices through sales, instock awareness and associate education.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, highly complex location
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make effective business decisions
  • Ability to work in different weather conditions
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure

Essential Functions

  • Act and work in a manner that is consistent with company’s core values
  • Drive, teach and adhere to the P’s of retail to include but are not limited to People, Product, Price, Purchasing, Position, Presentation, Promotion and Pro Services
  • Achieve growth and hit sales budgets by successfully managing the store’s inventory
  • Understand the store’s inventory needs by maintaining communication with day-time leadership
  • Conduct daily Merchandise team meetings to provide and guidance on product received
  • Strategically merchandize and utilize the company guidelines to outline merchandising practices.
  • Ensure all product is placed in the right location and stacked according to company safety policies
  • Ensure store presentation standards are achieved and maintained
  • Ensure the sales floor is stocked, clean and ready for store open
  • Guarantee safety and security of customers and employees by following established guidelines and procedures regarding loss prevention and risk management.
  • Assist the Merchandise Operations Manager in supporting, modeling, and enhancing a seamless sales culture by creating an environment that is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and quick for customers and co-workers.

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
