Manager, Information Technology (Spartan Surfaces)

Purpose

This position supports Spartan Surfaces with enterprise-wide responsibilities to manage the IT infrastructure, architecture, security, and day-to-day IT operations as detailed in the major responsibilities section below. The ideal candidate would be a hands-on Manager with a broad technical skillset across a variety of IT disciplines and possess strong leadership, project management and communication skills.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of external and/or internal IT team for Spartan Surfaces and partner with Floor & Decor (parent company) IT team to achieve common goals
  • Manage and provide technical leadership for the design, development, installation, configuration, and patching activities across enterprise server and end user computing infrastructure.
  • Maintain end user computing and mobility standards, device imaging, and deployment. Recognize and identify potential areas where existing IT policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed.
  • Partner with operations engineers to design, develop and implement improvements to existing infrastructure to increase system stability and performance.
  • Guide team members in monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifying viable solutions, and working with developers to implement fixes.
  • Design, develop, and implement security, backup, and storage solutions.
  • Improve visibility into operational and performance metrics to better understand the end user experience.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives, and performance to plan.
  • Act as an infrastructure and security subject matter expert.
  • Create and maintain key networking diagrams and documentation as the environment matures.
  • Conduct testing prior to implementation and migration of projects.
  • Maintain technical expertise in areas of network interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, load-balancers, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintain end user computing standards, device imaging, and deployment. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors providing managed services and with other business partners across the Company.
  • Manage design, configuration, testing, installation, support, and maintenance of hardware and software infrastructure with best practices.
  • Research emerging technology trends to make recommendations.
  • Architect, design and implement the necessary IT operational, change management life cycle of systems, and security controls and procedures to protect information systems assets and provide compliance oversight.
  • Develop monitoring and visibility capabilities, report on incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends to IT or executive management.
  • Assist CIRT operations engineers in advance threat analysis and investigations, if necessary, in the event of a security event.
  • Provide project estimates and manage financials to align with capital and operational budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other Information Technology related field (relevant work experience may be substituted for the required education)
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in IT architecture, infrastructure, and security
  • Experience with the following disciplines preferred:
    • Endpoint Management (VMware Workspace One UEM, SCCM)
    • Server virtualization (VMware/AHV)
    • Systems Configuration Management (Microsoft SCCM)
    • Domain Services and Collaboration (Active Directory, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint)
    • Group Policy Management
    • Mobile Device Management (AirWatch/WorkspaceOne, MS Intune)
    • Multi Factor Authentication, Single Sign On, Identity and Privileged Access Management (Okta, Microsoft AzureAD)
    • Enterprise Cloud (Microsoft Azure)
    • Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls
    • SD-WAN implementation, management, and optimization
    • VPN support
    • IDS/IPS systems
    • Enterprise routing solutions design using OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
    • Palo Alto firewalls
    • SD-WAN (CloudGenix)
    • Enterprise Core Network (Cisco Nexus/ACI)
    • Phone and Voice systems support (VOIP protocols such as SIP)
    • Enterprise Wireless
  • Network Performance and Alerting Software (SolarWinds Orion)
  • Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly organized with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to drive overlapping projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with development initiatives, business prioritization, project deployments and communications
  • Leadership acumen and confidence to influence technical peers through strategic delivery
  • Ability to present and articulate designs effectively and gain support from critical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to think outside-the-box.
  • Relevant professional certifications preferred but not required (such as OSCP, CISM, CISSP, PCIP, ISA, GWAPt, GPEN, etc.).
  • Must pass pre-employment background check
