Fleet Services Director

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for leading, directing and providing oversight for all activities, operations and functions of managing assets, vendors, and programs related to Fleet Management of retail stores, distribution centers and other corporate related facilities. Leads the future development and management of the creation of program strategies for all fleet inventory. Provides budgetary strategies and accountability reporting for all aspects of Fleet Management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience may be substituted)

  • 7-10  years  of  relevant  experience  required  or  an  equivalent  combination  of  education  and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to speak in front of executive teams, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership   experience   and   knowledge   of  fleet   services  including  procurement,  inventory management, preventative maintenance, repairs and sustainability.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for evaluating existing inventory and fleet services to determine the best options for the future of our fleet and managing consulting services. Responsibilities will include procurement, contract management, inventory management, maintenance of entire fleet of forklifts, trucks, chargers, batteries and specialty equipment at all stores, distribution centers and other corporate locations.

  • Manage all preventive maintenance and repairs to provide quick service with emergency calls (which may occur 24 hrs/7 days), escalations, and daily transactions as needed to ensure quality and prompt repairs are being delivered to our stores.
  • Budgetary responsibilities will include monthly and quarterly reporting, development of future budgets for all fleet services including leases, rentals, maintenance, and consultant services.
  • Oversee guidance and management identifying, planning, executing and reporting future initiatives and projects.
  • Vendor Management
  • Work closely to ensure vendor compliance with company’s goals and standards
  • Ensure quarterly reviews with primary vendors are performed to discuss performance and opportunities

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted)

KEY BUSINESS PARTNERS

  • Will report to Sr. Director of Facilities and Energy
  • Work daily with internal customers including store management, distribution centers and Logistics teams
  • Procurement partners

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):

  • Extensive auto and air travel with overnight stays.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time."
