Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager

The Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, will be responsible for managing key diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in a manner that advances core enterprise objectives. Reporting to the Director of DE&I, this person will work with the DE&I department, councils, and project teams to drive key projects, programs, communication plans, measurement tools, and activities based on the priorities and will liaison with internal teams such as HR, Learning, Associate Experience, Associate Relations, Legal, and Internal Communications. The manager will also support the development and execution of communications, events, training, and resources in support of DE&I strategies and programs.   


The manager must be an effective, results-driven leader with program and project management experience and strong communication and relationship-building skills. The manager must have a solid track record of excelling in fast-paced environments, when faced with ambiguity and while managing competing priorities concurrently. The manager must be an excellent collaborator and business partner with demonstrated ability to consult with partners at all levels throughout the organization. The person in this role must have the ability to use discretion and good judgment in handling confidential information. 


  • Drive execution of key projects and internal communications plans to advance awareness and commitment of DE&I’s infrastructure, workforce, workplace, marketplace, and community strategies and programs.  
  • Work effectively with leaders, vendors, and internal cross-functional partners to drive development and implementation of educational resources and programs to cultivate awareness, engagement and action in fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive and positive work environment.  
  • Oversee execution of projects led by DE&I project teams. 
  • Manage the DE&I SharePoint site, our hub for all DE&I communication; this includes curating content, partnering with the DE&I department, councils, and project teams to update content, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the content is aligned with corporate practices and policies.  
  • Manage new and existing programs to include DE&I calendar, leadership speaker series event, leader and associate perspective videos pertaining to DE&I; this includes identification of speakers, creating content, managing logistics, and collaborating with internal partners for successful program execution. 
  • Provide general project management support for all DE&I programs and initiatives. 
  • Act as a of contact for internal DE&I rewards and recognition and provide content as needed.  
  • Support development and execution of external communication plans to increase awareness and recognition for Floor & Decor in the DE&I space as needed. 
  • Keep current on DE&I trends, best practices and program development.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in HR, DE&I, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop effective communications and resources for employees across levels and business units
  • Excellent project management and organization skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while driving execution in a rapidly changing environment
  •  Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive associate and business information with utmost confidentiality
  • Ability to partner and work strategically with cross-functional teams to drive overall solutions, while appropriately managing issues and risks and large-scale change management
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  •  Limited travel required including air and car travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements:

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time."
