DevOps Senior Cloud Engineer

Smyrna | Georgia | United States | 30080

Purpose

  • This position is responsible for developing, supporting, setting policy for use, and determining future direction for our Azure cloud infrastructure that will be leveraged by Floor and Decor.  This is a DevOps engineering position.  The perfect candidate will have, a least, some software development experience, along with extensive Azure operations experience.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • One year of experience as an Azure senior operations engineer.
  • Hands on experience with setting up and managing Azure to include:
    • Effective use of resource groups.
    • Network/Subnet configurations, user defined routes, and routing methodologies.
    • Network Security Groups and configurations. 
    • Role Base Access (RBA) use cases.
    • Various types of Gateways including network virtual appliances (NVAs)
    • Load balancers and virtual machines.
    • Storage accounts
    • Multiple subscriptions 
  • One year of hands-on coding experience using Terraform or a similar IasC language.
  • Comfortable with both the Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Fluent in Linux and Windows scripting using BASH and Powershell.
  • Experience with setting up and managing configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, SCCM.
  • Experience working with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
  • Experience automating build and release/deployment workflows with CI-CD tools, preferably Jenkins 2.0 (blue / declarative) pipelines.
  • Experience with at least one DB platform: PostgreSQL (preferred), SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, or MySql.
  • Experience integrating CI-CD tools and Bitbucket or Github, Slack, and Jira.
  • Experience integrating automated software quality and security check frameworks, such as SonarQube, HP-Fortify, and Jenkins. 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket

Essential Job Functions

  • Administrate our Azure platform.
  • Maintain Tarraform code base as needed to support Azure infrastructure.
  • Work with team lead and IT architect to help develop a vision and strategy for the building and maintenance of tools and services to improve developer productivity.
  • Provide development teams a reliable and consistent development platform and process.
  • Build and extend tools for automated infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and fail-over on Azure cloud.
  • Evaluate, POC, and recommend new frameworks and tools that will enhance either the resiliency of our enterprise applications or make them easier to implement and maintain.
  • Provide on-boarding and support for new tools, platforms, and techniques to development teams.
  • Manage user issues and ticketing system related to problems.
  • Drive technology adoption, provide technical oversight, enforce good architectural principles, and ensure security best practices are followed.


WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

  • Infrequent travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is infrequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.


PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Store Support Center Associates
Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.
Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
