Showroom Assistant

Purpose

This position is responsible for cashiering, managing customer flow, assisting designers, order logistics and providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • 1-2 years of high volume customer service  
  • Knowledge of office and clerical processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Must possess excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced environment

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages phone traffic including, but not limited to, answering and directing calls
  • Schedules appointments for Designers
  • Organizes client project information
  • Greets all visitors and guests upon entering Design Gallery and provides appropriate assistance and introduce customers to a Designer
  • Schedule deliveries for customers
  • Assist Design Consultants and CEM with general administrative and clerical duties required for daily function of the business. Maintain files (electronic and paper), prepare follow-up correspondence, maintains various logs, and assignment lists.
  • Follow up as necessary to insure timely and appropriate service to staff members and customers.
  • Communication with the holding store of product (ensure all sold customer goods are pulled and track the progress)
  • Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner
  • Act and work in a manner that is consistent with the company’s core values
  • Demonstrate a thorough understand and compliance with the company’s safe lifting practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain composure while assisting customers, authorities, executives, clients, and associates
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Working Conditions (travel, environment)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and lift product.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force frequently, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
