Corporate Investigator-Field Operations

Purpose

This position is responsible for analyzing internal and external theft trends throughout Floor and Decor (F&D). The Corporate Investigator will work closely with the LP Director. They will be responsible for regularly reviewing point of sale exception reports to identify theft trends within stores. After identifying trends, the Field Investigator will partner with the LP Director to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (College degree preferred)
  • 10 years of investigator experience
  • Experience in conducting dishonest employee interviews
  • Exception reporting, CCTV Equipment, Covert Camera Installation, Burglar alarms
  • Internal Interview Technique/Training (Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Working knowledge of law enforcement
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality concerning projects and assignments
  • Knowledgeable of retail operations, loss prevention, and investigations
  • Ability to proactively and independently analyze historical data, theft trends and exceptions
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational, delegation and follow-up skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel

Essential Job Functions

Shrink Prevention and Awareness

  • Investigate and detect possible theft trend exposures, both internal and external
  • Manage the remote CCTV viewing platform for the company
  • Review data and analyze POS exception reports to detect theft and behaviors that contribute to shrink; validate exceptions using CCTV
  • Partner with the Corporate Safety & Asset Protection Director as needed to resolve/complete investigations
  • Partner with Law Enforcement to ensure Floor and Decor’s cases receive the proper attention
  • Partner with the LP Director when safety violations are observed while reviewing CCTV

Hazardous Material Review

  • Partner with LP Director when hazardous material exposure is observed when reviewing CCTV

Working Conditions (travel, environment)

  •  Travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
