Sr. Manager Merchandising Project Manager

Purpose:

The Sr. Manager, Merchandising Project Manager will oversee a wide variety of merchandising initiatives and operation projects from conceptual design through implementation.  This role will work and partner closely with all essential key stakeholders along with in-house experts on each project to maximize resources and efficiency. 

The role will be responsible for providing project planning and management for established Merchandising approved projects.  The position will work with IT on the provision of technical project planning and management of projects and/or initiatives working with Operations, Supply Chain, NSVM, Marketing and other business partners ensuring that projects and/or initiatives are in line with Merchandising plans and priorities.  The associate is expected to make sure selected projects and initiatives are executed within the time frame that is allocated to them, and that they fall within the organization’s budget.

This role will set standards for each project the Merchandising team embarks on and monitors the input of different teams within the organization to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the project as planned.  The role will also be responsible for all kinds of project management functions, including project planning, scheduling, risk management, resource management and both internal and external communications.

The role of the Business/Technical project manager is one that is quite complex and requires efficiency in both technical and management fields.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Extensive leadership experience and strong team abilities
  • Excellent communication and concisely report out on project status to Senior/Executive Management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate with people or personnel from different areas of the company
  • Ability to prioritize project functions and excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant IT applications
  • Ability to build relationship across many fronts
  • Ability to focus and pay attention to details
  • Ability to work in a team as well as an individual with little or no supervision
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a project management setting
  • Any other certification would be a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by the scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Make sure all required projects are completed and reviewed.  Responsible for identifying, clarifying, and communicating the vision(s) and/or objective(s) of projects and show how they fall in place with, enhance, or inhibits such vision(s) and/or objective(s)
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Lead, monitor, and motivate different teams across the company and interact with staff at all levels in the organization
  • Create and manage methods of management, communication plans and processes
  • Analyze, plan, and develop procedures and other management and technical duties
  • Define the scope of the project, roles, and responsibilities along with various stakeholders
  • Responsible for the management of complex problems and development of processes for scheduling and administration
  • Provide process improvement recommendations focuses on finding innovative solutions to solve today’s problems with tomorrow challenges in mind.
  • Develop deep understanding of the inter-relationship of systems within the company.

 Working Conditions (travel & environment)

  • Travel may be required including air and car travel
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY    REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
