Business Intelligence Manager

Job Description:

Purpose

Manage Business Intelligence and HR team’s initiatives and roadmap items. Partner with business on new capability requests, facilitate business requirements, drive functional designs, and implement process redesign.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Four (4) year college degree required (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred)
  • 12 years of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.  Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Has exempt level experience involving various prior experience that demonstrates the ability to work with diverse business partners to prioritize and quantify new IT initiatives
  • Experience managing competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain product consistency throughout implementation cycle to include the project inception, requirements, design and construction phases through quality checkpoints and testing to ensure successful launch to production.
  • Drive requirements using retail experience, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis – leverage past retail experience.
  • Capture requirements specifications by developing standard templates, using natural language and leading process methodologies (RUP, RPM, or Six Sigma).
  • Provide necessary definition, development and deployment guidance to ensure successful IT initiatives.
  • Develop and modify processes and procedures to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program, consistent with company goals and policies.
  • Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
  • Keep abreast of changing quality assurance and service management techniques and apply that knowledge to improve F&D’s delivery quality.
  • Provide visibility and coordination between the Store Operations, Vendor Compliance, Indirect Procurement & Asset Protection areas and IT.
  • Mentor and enhance the requirements and functional design skills of the IT resources.

Working Conditions (travel,   environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
