Business Development Analyst

Smyrna | Georgia | United States | 30080

Purpose

This position has overall responsibility for assisting with the development, support and growth of the company’s commercial credit programs and through this, growth of the company’s overall sales and profitability. In this effort, the role will include a strong focus on driving business growth by assisting with the creation, implementation and optimization of commercial credit programs and strategies to support Pro and Commercial Sales. This role will be responsible for driving a strong commercial credit culture into our inside and outside commercial sales teams; building and maintaining strong value-based relationships with these sales associates, and ultimately ensuring that these associates understand the value of connecting our Pro and Commercial customers with the related commercial credit offerings of Floor & Decor. 

Additional responsibilities include assisting with reporting metrics, development of program materials, roll-out of new programs and participation in store events in various U.S. cities.  Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business
  • Strong analytical skills and the desire to promote program growth and process improvement opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally using tact and courtesy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced level in Excel)
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and manage customer and store associate relationships
  • Ability to engage with customers, begin a conversation, build rapport, and handle objections
  • Customer service focus with the ability to listen to customer needs and recommend solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Comfortable receiving ongoing performance feedback and coaching

Essential Functions

  • Work directly with customers, Pro store associates, store managers, outside credit agencies and Treasury to grow and drive commercial credit acceptance, usage and development with our Pro and Commercial customers
  • Develop, suggest, and implement process improvements and procedural changes, as needed, to address issues discovered during interaction with credit and store associates as well as customers
  • Identify training opportunities within individual stores and schedule appropriate calls and webcasts with stores/regional managers and their teams to elevate their credit skills
  • Interact and follow up with customers to ensure they understand F&D’s credit offerings and any issues discovered during these interactions are resolved in a timely manner
  • Assist with training F&D associates on the commercial credit programs and their features including creating learning material for training associates and conducts onsite training visits to the local stores as needed
  • Monitor regional and individual store credit performance and participate in grand openings and industry network events
  • Collaborate with marketing team to create promotional materials for commercial credit offerings
  • Continually maintain working knowledge of all company products, services and promotions
  • Assists with credit investigation and onboarding processes as needed assisting with credit investigations, obtaining credit reports and recording data scorecard template. Tracks and records customer credit information from CIT

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
