Benefits Analyst

Smyrna | Georgia | United States | 30080

PURPOSE

The benefits analyst is responsible for reviewing, reconciling, auditing, analysis, and customer service for benefits and retirement

programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), and other programs.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Analytical business background, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and high attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, mathematical, financial modeling and continuous process improvement skills.
  • Experience with benefits analytics; strong financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Organized, detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field of study
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM- SCP) certification credential
  • Experience with Workday and Kronos products
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with internal human resources, payroll, benefits, and recruiting processes
  • Advanced skills in Excel

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be

performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for the analysis, auditing, reporting, and forecasting of benefits data including, but not limited to, health and welfare plans, and 401(k).
  • Responds  to  benefits  inquiries  from current and former employees, managers, HR, IT, finance, accounts payable, and external vendors on plan  provisions,  benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
  • Compiles,  analyzes  and  reports  on  benefits  data  including  employee  contributions, employer expense, and adjustments.
  • Explains financial variances to plan or forecast, with an emphasis on identifying trends and issues to be proactively addressed.
  • Conducts per pay-period benefits/payroll reconciliations.
  • Ensures benefits vendor file feed integrations run smoothly and accurately. Resolves issues with the system and integrations; research and implement enhancements and automation related to benefits processes.
  • Performs monthly financial reviews of benefit carrier billing to ensure accuracy of invoices and enrollment compared to change files, vendor systems inputs and payroll. Analyze invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Audits and maintains current and historical benefits data ensure accuracy against payroll records and vendors’ systems.
  • Supports internal and external audits.
  • Works with Sr. Manager of Total Rewards to provide detailed plan design cost proposals for budgeting and forecasting
  • Analyze results of compliance testing and filings including IRS tax/informational filings..

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Occasional travel required including air and car travel
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet
