Flooring Trade Consultant

Purpose:

The Flooring Trade Consultant will serve as a valuable resource to our both customers and associates. This position will focus on that customers have a positive shopping experience by receiving exceptional customer service, product information, and installation advice and techniques. This position will serve as a knowledge base helping educate both customers and associates to ensure customer’s project success.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

2-4 years installation and sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Hands-on experience and understanding installation methods/techniques is required. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education based on one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education. Able to read, write and speak English

  • Complete an extensive certification process including e-learning, hands on demonstrations, and manager validation.
  • Act and work in a manner that is consistent with company’s core values.
  • Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Deep understanding of the PRO business and how they use our products
  • Support the Regional Account Managers with commercially spec’d products
  • Support and launch new Installation Materials products in the store.
  • Assist the designers in building out complex projects
  • Assist customers and associates with product questions and selections.
  • Process customers transactions using in-store technology
  • Facilitate Saturday ‘how-to’ education clinics to customers.
  • Assist the leadership in onboarding and training of new associates
  • Facilitate large group trainings for customers and associates in the market
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendor, store support, and regional partners.
  • Train associates on the flow of a project by taking them on the Installation Materials Tour
  • Ability to maintain composure in dealing with customers, authorities, executives, clients, and staff, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

Working Conditions (travel & environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY    REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent, walking, squatting, and bending.
  • Regular talking and hearing.
  • Occasional standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling,
  • crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling and crawling.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive hand use (keyboard, scanner, grasping, applying force).

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
