Freight Claims Analyst - Home Delivery
The purpose of this role is to file and manage the claim process on behalf of the Floor & Decor stores with our carriers when a freight claim is required. This role will be responsible for the overall process management of our transportation freight claims for Home Delivery including LTL long distance residential, LTL dock to dock and local last mile.
The Freight Claims Analyst will oversee all aspects of filing of freight claims, including the ongoing management of claim incidents and transactions throughout the reconciliation process, and ensuring accurate receipt and reporting of credits due.
In this role Freight Claims Analyst will be required to investigate, provide sufficient evidence to submit claims and understand various issues related to quantity shortages, damages of product, missing freight, issues around delivery, property damage and cargo loss damage claims.
Expected to work cross functionally with various departments within Floor & Decor and work directly with the carriers typically with their Claims Department.
Investigate, gather, provide, and analyze documentation and information from all involved parties (photos, shipping documents, survey reports, spec sheets, etc.) to determine if a claim can be successfully submitted. Submit the claim to the carrier and follow up with any other additional supporting documentation requested. Where appropriate provide the carrier with a rebuttal to a denied freight claim.
Understand carrier contracts around claims and provide feedback to Floor & Decor Home Delivery team to help enhance carrier contracts with regards to recouping freight claims.
Negotiate claims with the party at fault and determine final loss of revenue on each claim processed.
Assist with the ongoing development of the Claims process and provided training for the store associates are need.
Provide determine to the carrier or store if product is to be donated or destroyed in the field or returned to the store.

Reminder of time the time is help supporting the Home Delivery Team with daily activities.
2+ Years’ Experience of Claims is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Self-motivated and proactive. Ability to seek out work to assist Stores.
Import/export documentation, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of accounting, logistics, documentation, credit & collections, receivables and/or payables functions ·
Working knowledge of shipping Incoterms
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)·
Strong oral and written communicator in fluent English.
