This position is responsible for leading all store associate and management level sales, operations, product knowledge, training, development systems, processes, and programs. The individual will design and develop training programs, job aides and tools. In addition, he/she will manage all necessary career development initiatives to achieve targeted succession plan goals, turnover, and other defined people metrics as directed.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Associate degree in Business Administration or other related field (Relevant work experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
Two years of management experience at the Department Manager/Operations Manager level or the equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job as determined by the company
Strong knowledge and experience of store operations at every level
Ability to work independently, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence associates by building teams to achieve exemplary results
Must be detail-oriented and highly analytical
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and be familiar with software and procedural standards
Possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
Must pass pre-employment background check
Oversee all associate-level processes and new hire on-boarding activities
Develop and deliver operations and management training programs
Develop and deliver product knowledge training programs
Develop and deliver sales training programs
Conduct research by interviewing subject matter experts (“SMEs”) and reviewing existing documentation and training programs
Prepare, edit and deliver “blended” associate training programs in accordance with best practices and benchmarked against industry leading companies
Translate information of medium to high complexity into clear, concise training systems
Support region teams and operations leadership to meet defined development and internal promotion targets for each department
Design, develop, and facilitate various associate training workshops and other curricula
Support associate-level workshop development, class schedules, and associate class enrollment
May assist with overseeing and managing new store opening training teams, processes and programs
Conduct needs analysis, validations, and follow-up on all associate training processes to maximize consistency or execution of programs
Determine training needs, develop plans and track results using a variety of metrics
Provide documentation support for ongoing projects including site assessments, surveys, focus group studies, and task force initiatives
Act in concert with the other department team members, share and contribute ideas to improve revisions and maintenance of existing content
This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
Travel required (20%-50%) including air and car travel
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
